Rating:**
Details:UPDATE UPDATE* - We have reconnoitred a loose path with a few twists and turns and a couple of hills. Nothing to fret about. This trip rates a lowly 4.5 on Paddy's Scatchometer (R) Late start so the drivers can get themselves psyched-up. The plan is to start with a short forest drive of about 90 minutes with the girls at the helm. + There will be a challenge for the girls to overcome. There will be a track obstruction that must be moved. The girls will need to work together to solve this. Time allowed will be 15 minutes. No muscle should be required. Track Marshals will supervise (and keep track of demerit points ;-) HINT: http://www.4wdaction.com.au/tipswinch.php - There will be no prize for successful completion; just bragging rights. After the drive the walkers (ladies) amongst the group will be dropped-off, for a relatively easy, 90 minute, forest walk (6km) adeptly led up the garden path, by Doris. Meanwhile, Paddy and the boys will relocate to the destination by vehicle (what's left of it anyway ;-) where the arduous BBQ preparations will be undertaken = have a cold drink, entertain/mind the kids, talk 4x4 stuff, press green button on BBQ. BBQ about 3:30pm onwards. Plenty of shade, grassed areas, toilets etc. $11 National Park entry fee for vehicles without annual pass. Sorry, no pets. One more thing; if there is a licensed female driver in the vehicle, then they are the driver for the forest drive. NB. The drive won't be scary... and yes ladies, we will be keeping score ;-) All welcome; even if the driver sports an X chromosome - somebody's gotta slice the onions anyway. Lads - it's the girls day off, so please take care of the catering.

Trip leader:Rusty Email Rusty
Tail end:Bluey Email Bluey
Rating:**
Details:The Exploreoz 2010 National Gathering is being held in Western Australia and advise the venue will be the Gunbarrel Laager Travelers Rest (just outside of Wiluna township). Wiluna is adequately serviced to enable a full restock of supplies from the Gunbarrel Groceries store/servo and the Gunbarrel Laager is a suitable quiet spot to rest and recouperate. This Gathering has the interest and support of the Wiluna Shire Council who are keen to organise a number of local activities for us such as traditional damper making by Aboriginal people from the town and a display of their art from the Tjukurba Gallery, both to be held out at the Laager. The gathering coincides with the peak travel season either within/or week before most states July school holidays. We may not have official activities through the full 5 days but this is the week in which we aim to hold the gathering - the official activities will probably be held on 3 days and the days either side give leeway for people arriving/departing so with a more casual theme. Day trips and activities around the town will be organised. Some other ideas for activities/games during the gathering are: * The EO Amazing Race - vehicle based Wiluna version with questions, clues, roadblocks, and riddles to solve in and around the Wiluna shire region; and * A special takehome gift/activity for every participant (1 per vehicle) curtesy of ExplorOz (this is a secret project so sorry no more clues).

Also in the area is the Ozplore Oz meeting so it could be quite busy but it is a big backyard to play in. The trip will travel to wiluna then out to warburton via Carnegie. From there you have the choice of crashing onto the Rock or cruising home as I will be via some of the old mining roads and towns. This is a reasonably kid friendly trip with a few long hauls just to get places. There should be plenty of good 4x4ing and great night camps.

At this time of the year there is a possibility there will be still heaps of mud so please come prepared with all your mud tyre (if you have a set), all your recovery gear as it can get very slippery out there.

Station Adoptions: Friday 1st - Sunday 10th
Meeting place:TBA
Meeting time:TBA
Trip leader:Froggy
Rating:**
Details:This one is not really a trip led by me, more of a way to promote what is being achieved by TCWA projects team to assist in creating new opportunities for 4wd drivers just like members of this club. It’s also been put up so I can place some photos and a trips report about it and where we went post trip for members to take advantage of at a later date – if they choose to head out there and check some of the better stations worth restoring. I’m only going on the first trip, there are a few more planned – another more extended trip in November and then next year to the Goldfields. Sort of looking forward to this one, should be very interesting. If you are keen on something like this, let me know and I'll have Jeff Hemsley get in tuch with you.
Participants:Froggy, TCWA members, any WC4x4 members - check with J visitor.

Kadji Kaleidoscope: Friday 8th - Sunday 10th
Meeting place:Bindoon Bakehouse
Meeting time:1:00PM
Trip leader:Paddy Email Paddy
Rating:**
Details:***Update*** Have moved the meeting place 20 minutes up the road (and pushed the time back 15 minutes to compensate). This way we can all allow the appropriate time to select our gastronomic delights if being evil. You're gonna have to ask the boss for Friday off, but it'll be worth it. Meet at the new and improved Bindoon Bakehouse and then fuel stop at Carnamah. A campfire at Koolanooka Springs on the Friday night then experience the wonder of Kadji Kadji in bloom on a Saturday 4WD run. An easy trek with a chance to pick over some historical relics and enjoy what is (normally) a wildflower wonderland. Friday night campfire and Saturday tour with a leisurely drive home Sunday (although we can make it a little more interesting if you are game with your trailers/vans in tow?) Camper trailers and off-road caravans OK for this trip. Quiet, friendly dogs OK, but there is the usual bait risk! Expect the unexpected - pretty much goes without saying.

PS Don't forget your helmets and also your bikes(and maybe some recovery gear).
